I get it: probably the last thing you want to do is read a newsletter haranguing you about pre-ordering a book, especially now in this time of terrible economic uncertainty.
I'm always torn because I want to pre-order and support you lovely people who write amazing stories, but I also like having a list of things I'm looking for in reserve for when I go on a lil bookstore excursion.
Meanwhile, my little east coast apartment is like, "Ma'am, you barely have space for the books you currently own" XD
Right? We're going to be moving in a couple months and I can't believe how much my book collection has gone since we've been out here. I found homes for over 200 books to move here six years ago and I think I've acquired way more than that...
Congrats on remembering which books you want when you walk into the bookstore!!! I always seem to get amnesia the minute I cross the threshold.
To be fair, I also get threshold amnesia on occasion, so I try to keep a running list of titles that I keep thinking about on my phone for easy reference.
Thanks for reminding me I probably need to go update that list now 😅
Pre-order done #2! :) I don't mind being reminded to pre-order at all; happy to buy a book when it helps the most. I just heard your interview with Carter Wilson on his "Making It Up" podcast. Really fun conversation, and I'm sorry to hear that being a multilane author creates career anxiety because I personally admire agile and creative authors who write in more than one lane. I'm a big fan of your historical horror and I hadn't realized you write spy novels as well; I just ordered Red Widow and can't wait to dive in.
I'm thinking of proposing a historical horror to my publisher and it will be interesting to see their reaction... if Incarnate does well, they may not want to give readers whiplash by going back to historicals...
I pre-ordered ALL HALLOW’S EVE. Can’t wait!
Thank you!!!
You’re very welcome. And, thank you too!

So kind of you--on both fronts!

Preorder done. Congrats, Alma on another amazing book.
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it :-)
