Alma, you are a very attractive woman and I love the photo of you smiling. It’s lovely for a long-time fan of your work to see a new headshot photo! I am 61, and I firmly believe that just because we’re older, it doesn’t mean we’re not beautiful. 🥰

Thanks for the kind words. It is interesting to me to see how I change over time. I know no one thinks it's going to happen to them (haha).

You're lovely, of course, but I like your advice about pictures that reflect what we have to say rather than "pretty." As a 51 year old who is in the middle of a "rewrite and resubmit" for her first book submission, I worry about what I'll look like by the time a headshot is necessary, and I won't. I have something interesting to say, and I'll take pictures that reflect that. Thank you!

My last photo shoot before this one was so bad that I've never shown anyone those photos, including my husband. Good luck with your photo shoot--you're so lovely, inside and out, I'm sure it will go well!

Since I was young I always wondered how I'd do a headshot or author photo for the back of the book I've never written. Every headshot I've had to take (law school composite, the times I ran for office, my law group website) has gotten worse and more boring over the years. I'm definitely getting a pro next time around.

Great photos...such an art to capture someone's personality in a headshot.

The headshots are beautiful. Also, do you know if there are any more caretaker for the cryo-dead job openings? Asking for a friend.

It doesn't sound so bad, all things considered, does it?

Wonderful photos! I love S.A. Barnes' books. I also recently finished Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng it was creepy and sad and infuriating and made me sob.

Great shots Alma! Matt's a great guy. He took beautiful graduation photos for my son's HS students during the pandemic as a gift.

Amazing. Kids who had activities or were in a sport were themed in the photos. He put a lot of thought into each one and they were gorgeous. Perfect shots for you. Lookin' good!
